Beautiful Feet

Memory Verse:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!” Romans 10:15 (HCS)

Connecting to the Bible
Read Matthew 28:18-20. This commandment from Jesus comes after He had died on the cross and rose from the dead. It was time for His disciples to go and tell others about Jesus. They were to go and tell the Good News of Jesus. Those who heard the Good News could then decide to believe and to follow Jesus. If someone came to you and shared with you about Jesus, wouldn’t there be something beautiful about that? Romans 10:15 says, “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”

Connecting to Your Family
Ask everyone in your family to take off their shoes. Take a picture of each person’s feet. Now ask each person in your family to try to guess which picture matches which family member. I don’t know about you, but I really don’t look at people’s feet and think of feet as being BEAUTIFUL. Yet, the Bible says that the feet of those who go and tell the Good News of Jesus are BEAUTIFUL. Even though our feet might be dirty or have snagged or nasty toenails (from running outside without shoes because that feels so good during the summer), God views those feet as BEAUTIFUL when they are quick to run to people in need, when they are quick to run to people who need help with chores, or quick to run and tell someone about Him. Those feet (even though they might be a little dirty) are BEAUTIFUL feet. Think of ways your family can use your feet in a BEAUTIFUL way to tell some family about Jesus, to help a Sr. adult around their house, or to take groceries to someone in need.

Connecting to God
Ask God to help you and your family to look for ways to take care of others. Ask him to help your family always be on the lookout for those who need extra help or extra love. Thank Jesus for His beautiful feet that walked to a place where He willingly died on a cross for your sin. Jesus’ beautiful feet sets the example for us. Thank him for that example.
